Why I started Hardcore News

That matters to me because these stories don’t stay on a screen. They reach into your paycheck, your health, your vote and the way you see the people around you. If you leave an article confused about what actually happened, the writing failed you.
I want to explain the thing. Show the evidence. Ask the question that gets skipped. Give you enough context to make up your own mind, including room to disagree with me.
My vision is to build an independent media company from this starting point. That takes more than a loud name. It takes useful reporting, a voice worth coming back for, and the willingness to correct the record.

Before the newsroom
English came to publishing through a nontraditional path. He attended three colleges without graduating, spent more than eleven years in restaurants and hospitality, and later worked in small-business operations and accounting. Years of collecting questions he could not stop thinking about became the foundation of his writing.
